ALEX CAMERON releases new single/video, 'K Hole'
Sydney born and raised singer/songwriter Alex Cameron presents a new single/video, 'K Hole,' from his forthcoming fourth album, Oxy Music, out March 11th on Secretly Canadian. The album features Lloyd Vines and Sleaford Mods' Jason Williamson and is inspired by the opioid epidemic and Nico Walker's novel Cherry. Cameron explain: "The album is a story, a work of fiction, mostly from the perspective of a man. Starved of meaningful purpose, confused about the state of the world, and in dire need of a reason to live. This is one of those people."
BADBADNOTGOOD share new video for 'Open Channels'
Following the release of their highly-celebrated psychedelic jazz album Talk Memory out now via XL Recordings, Canadian ensemble BADBADNOTGOOD share the video for 'Open Channels.' Previously only available on physical copies of Talk Memory, 'Open Channels' arrives to streaming services and with a black and white short film directed by Sylvain Chaussee.

Most known for his role as songwriter and lead singer of U.S punk rock band Pennywise, Jim Lindberg has been making inspiring, shout-along skate punk anthems since the 1990s. Songs From The Elkhorn Trail, the solo acoustic debut from Jim Lindberg, is out today on all digital platforms showcasing his softer Americana side.. The album will be available on CD & vinyl May 6. Today, Texas born musician, singer and songwriter Kevin Morby announces This Is A Photograph his 7th solo record, out May 13th on Dead Oceans, and shares its title track and accompanying video. SOUL GLO share new single 'Driponomics'
Philly based hardcore band Soul Glo have released their latest single, 'Driponomics', ahead of their fourth studio album Diaspora Problems due out on March 25th. Fusing hip-hop, hardcore, and punk, the Philly outfit are fearless in their approach and even more ruthless in their delivery. 'Driponomics', is a scathing commentary on capitalism and economic disparity, contrasted with the prevalence of hypebeast culture, listing popular designers and brands in between screeching distortion and a heavy bassline. The track also features a verse from fellow Philly native, rapper Mother Maryrose.

On Songs From The Elkhorn Trail, Jim Lindberg (Pennywise) takes a much more introspective turn, producing his first solo album that is at once a personal reflection of life, a testament to family and friends, and a look at the fleeting nature of those relationships, and the resulting consequences of loneliness and alienation. Musically, he’s influenced by an array of genres from early Hermosa Beach (LA) melodic hardcore to the PMA influenced sounds of Minor Threat, 7 Seconds, and Dag Nasty.
First solo outing, KRISTINE LESCHPER, releases new album
The Opening, Or Closing Of A Door is a paean to the sensory world. It’s the first music Leschper has released under her given name, having retired the moniker Mothers after eight years of performing and releasing music under it. MADI DIAZ releases Same History, New Feelings EP
US singer/songwriter/musician Madi Diaz has released the Same History, New Feelings EP featuring collaborations with Waxahatchee, Angel Olsen, Courtney Marie Andrews, and Natalie Hemby. The Same History, New Feelings EP is comprised of four reworkings of songs off 2021’s History Of A Feeling. where Diaz pulls from a range of folk, country, and pop leanings—she is as much influenced by Patty Griffin and Lori McKenna as she is the sonics of PJ Harvey and directness of Kathleen Hanna.

Applications for IRD's COVID-19 Support Payment and the Ministry of Culture & Heritage Emergency Relief Grant went live this week. The new MCH one-off grant of $5,000 will open for applications from 2pm Monday 28 February. It is available to self-employed people whose main employment activity over the last 12 months is in the arts, culture and heritage sector and whose income has been directly affected by a move to ‘Red’ under the COVID-19 Protection Framework on 23 January 2022. Any live session needed to do the record justice, so we knew we needed to do it where and with who we recorded the album, and luckily, Roundhead was free!*
