RINGLETS share video for ‘New Life’ + release limited edition 7" | Check out the new video
Last month Tāmaki-based post-punk quartet Ringlets unveiled their first new music in over a year, the boisterous new-wave anthem ‘New Life’, Listen HERE. Praised by the likes of Rolling Stone AU/NZ and The Listener upon its release, now the band divulge an eccentric mixed-media video to match, available to watch on Friday, June 14th. ‘New Life’ is also available now in-store and online as a limited edition 7” thanks to Leather Jacket Records and Flying Nun Records. ‘New Life’ is nicely paired with an exclusive, vinyl-only b-side; the sardonic and brooding ‘Scam Me‘, prised from the depths of Ringlet’s shimmering unreleased catalogue.

DELICATE STEVE announces new album | Check out new single 'I'll Be There'
Steve Marion, the critically acclaimed – and completely wordless – songwriter and guitarist known as Delicate Steve, is announcing a new album called Delicate Steve Sings (out August 17th on ANTI-). Is the album title a reference to the instantly recognizable “voice” of his guitar? Does he actually sing this time? Has he not been singing all along? That’s the crux of Sings — Marion is the rare guitarist where you can put on any of his records and know exactly who’s playing. In an indie rock landscape stuffed end-to-end with guitars and amplifiers, nobody else sounds like this.
ANOHNI and the Johnsons unveil new song ‘Breaking’ | Give 'Breaking' a whirl
From the sessions that created ANOHNI’s critically acclaimed 2023 album My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross comes a new unreleased gem, ‘Breaking’. A stripped-down trio of guitar, clarinet and layers of jazz-infused vocals, at first distilled and then volatile, ‘Breaking’ is a stunning addition to ANOHNI’s vital canon.
JENSEN MCRAE signs to Dead Oceans and shares new single | Listen to ‘Massachusetts’
LA based songwriter and musician Jensen McRae has shared new single ‘Massachusetts’, and announced her signing to Dead Oceans (Mitski, Phoebe Bridgers, Khruangbin). Self-described as “one house down from the girl next door”, McRae has been compared to artists like Tracy Chapman or Phoebe Bridgers, and with good reason. Her voice is dynamic, her melodies are immediate, almost addictive. Most of all, the blunt force of Jensen McRae’s songs is in the stories they tell, and in the ways they invite you to see, feel, and hear yourself within them. It’s this skill that makes ‘Massachusetts’, and McRae, so easy to love.
RAT BOY share new single (ft. Lil Aaron) | Check out ‘ONE IN A MILLION’
Always dedicated to doing things on their own terms, the internationally unknown adventures of RAT BOY have taken them from Essex and across the world: rising up the UK charts, spending time working in America with one of their all-time favourite artists Tim Armstrong (Rancid, Operation Ivy), and earning obsessive fandom in Japan. But where you’re from is an inescapable part of who you are, and the band are continually inspired by their TOWIE home county. That’s something they demonstrate with today’s release of their new single ‘ONE IN A MILLION’

DIRTY THREE new LP only available in NZ and AU record stores | Get it NOW
Emerging once again from the unending waves crashing upon our fragile time-craft (adrift on the eternal ocean, and taking on water), Dirty Three are (a) back, (b) tangled in seaweed, and (c) not wasting another minute – as nothing is guaranteed. For their first album in over a decade – yep, it’s been since 2012’s Toward the Low Sun – they flew in, got together and started playing. End of story. What else is there to say or do but that?
The Dirty Three – Warren Ellis, Mick Turner and Jim White – formed up in Melbourne in 1992, to play with guitar drums and violin or viola, and within a couple of years, they’d broken out – out of Australia, out of anything else they might have been inside of, to boot – and got worldwide.
Over the next ten years, they toured over and over the planet, ceaseless like, and cut seven albums along the way. After this, their unique style of play, fitted together like puzzle pieces, was decoupled, more often than not, and pieced together in many other, fruitful collaborations with many other esteemed talents including Bill Callahan, Cat Power, Nick Cave, Marianne Faithfull, Will Oldham, PJ Harvey, Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile and so many more. Over the past 20 years, they’ve gotten together a few times, renewed the vow, revved the engines and played some shows, or made an album. Like now.

Beggars Arkive announce upcoming release Pink Rhythm - An 80s Love Affair | Listen to ‘Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love’
Pink Rhythm was one of John Rocca’s mid-80’s solo side projects and a somewhat evolution of his pioneering early-80s band, Freeez. An 80s Love Affair LP contains six classic Pink Rhythm tracks, four of which have not been available on vinyl since the original single releases in 1985. It is pure, smooth 80s drum machines, it is synth sounds, saxophones and keyboards…. it’s retro, but it could also be current. Either way, it’s as refreshing now as it was then. Over the years, John Rocca’s music has been sampled by many, including Jamie xx, Empress Of, Brandy, Burial, Todd Terry, Coolio, Cut Chemist and more. Alongside the announcement of the new LP today, Pink Rhythm track ‘Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love’ has been made available on streaming services.
