JAMIE XX announces 2nd album and shares new song | Turn it up for 'Treat Each Other Right'
Nine years on from the release of his GRAMMY, BRIT, Ivor Novello and Mercury Music Prize-nominated debut album In Colour, London musician, DJ and producer Jamie xx today announces his long-awaited second album. Titled In Waves, the album will be released on 20th September 2024 via Young. To celebrate the news, Jamie xx today releases the riotous new single ‘Treat Each Other Right’. A muscular breakbeat anthem-meets-futuristic soul burner, it’s a track that, like all the music on the album, has been road tested during Jamie xx DJ sets over the past few years, with Jamie carefully gauging crowd reactions and further refining the propulsion.

Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Frazer unveils a new single/video, ‘Dime,’ from his sophomore solo album, Into the Blue, out June 29th via Dead Oceans. Following double lead single ‘Payback’ b/w ‘Into the Blue’ and ‘Time Will Tell,’ ‘Dime’ (pronounced dee-meh) is a tropicalia-inflected track featuring the Chilean artist Cancamusa.

London trio Goat Girl are sharing ‘words fell out’ today, the third and final single from their new album Below The Waste which drops this Friday, June 7th on Rough Trade Records. The track is accompanied by a gorgeous, intimate black and white video featuring the band. It was directed and shot by singer/guitarist Lottie Pendlebury’s sister, Molly Ann Pendlebury and choreographed by her mother, Lauren Potter.

On September 21 Perfume Genius will release a new crystal-clear vinyl reissue of Too Bright via his long-time label Matador Records. Fans can pre-order the reissue, which will not contain new material.

The much-anticipated refurbishment and expansion of Auckland’s iconic Dive music venues and bars, WHAMMY!, Backroom & The Wine Cellar performance space has been scheduled! Re-emerging as WHAMMY! and Double Whammy! on August 17th, the dynamic 400-500-capacity Double Whammy! venue promises to be the epicenter of creativity and community in the heart of Auckland city. The last shows at Backroom and Wine Cellar will take place the weekend of August 2nd and 3rd. After this, the venues will close down until August 17th when everything will be revealed at the Grand Opening Party. Whammy! will continue to host regular live music events throughout.
