Toro y Moi has released new album Hole Erth, via Dead Oceans. While Toro y Moi has long built a reputation for reinventing himself from one body of work to the next, Hole Erth might represent his boldest musical pivot to date. The album synthesises anthemic pop-punk and autotuned, melancholic rap into a body of work that is both very much of the now, but also a reflection of long-running threads in Toro y Moi mastermind Chaz Bear’s musical history — from his childhood immersion in punk and emo to his past production work for some of the biggest names in modern rap.

SLOWDIVE shares 'kisses' mixes by Daniel Avery & Grouper | Listen to 'Kisses'
Slowdive release ‘kisses (Daniel Avery Remix)’ b/w ‘kisses – sky ii’ two reinterpretations of the lead single from their highly revered 2023 album everything is alive. On ‘kisses (Daniel Avery Remix),’ the acclaimed producer enriches ‘kisses’ universal sound, “reflective and rich, as multi-layered thematically as it is sonically” (Paste), tapping into and expanding on the original’s electronic influences with synth-wave flourishes, echoed vocals, and rapid drum-machine beat. If Daniel Avery’s version kicks the night off, Grouper’s soundtracks the hazy morning after, downshifting Halstead and Goswell’s vocals to a blurring effect as the slowed synths and guitars envelop the listener.
