Wednesday's Guitarist, MJ LENDERMAN announces Live Album | THE LABEL
Asheville/North Carolina musician MJ Lenderman announces his new live album, And the Wind (Live and Loose!), out November 17th on ANTI-, and presents an accompanying live video for fan favourite “You Have Bought Yourself A Boat.” MJ Lenderman writes songs that are amorphous and elastic, rising to fill the venue they’re in, generous to accommodate the numbers of players on stage (an often unpredictable affair), less concerned with replicating the studio version than they are with meeting the crowd where they’re at. On his records, Lenderman handles most of the playing, but with And the Wind (Live and Loose!) it’s a multi-headed beast. With the help of guitarist Jon Samuels (Friendship, 2nd Grade), drummer Colin Miller, plus fellow Wednesday bandmates Xandy Chelmis (pedal steel) and Ethan Baechtold (bass), And the Wind (Live and Loose!) builds out a number of beloved MJ tracks into something else entirely.
U.S. Girls share new live album | FULL RELEASE HERE
Lives is the new live album from U.S. Girls. To be released on the eve of a European tour, this album showcases the last five years of the U.S. Girls project on stage, offering an example of what Paste Magazine meant when they called U.S. Girls the best live band on the planet.
Meg Remy is an anomaly. Over the course of the last 15 years, her U.S. Girls project has morphed, transposed and transmuted through it’s various forms to produce a catalogue with a depth and breadth that is unparalleled within her generation. From her early experiments with tape machines in 2007 through to recent iterations of the U.S. Girls live band, Meg has continued present audiences with live interpretations of her compositions that possess the power to astound, enlighten, challenge and inspire in equal measure.
EPITAPH'S REMO DRIVE SHARE NEW SINGLE |WATCH JAMES KERR ANIMATED VIDEO HERE
Three years after Remo Drive released their self-produced album ‘Portrait Of An Ugly Man’ – deemed by Under The Radar as the band’s “most personal” and “darkest yet” – the brothers from Minnesota are back today with the new single ‘No, There’s No Hope For You.’ Maintaining an unflinching sense of self-awareness that has endeared them to many since their start in the mid-2010’s, the new track is an indie-rock joyride juxtaposed with melancholy, introspective lyrics that depict a common misconception about love.

BAD SUNS ANNOUNCE NEW PROJECT ‘INFINITE JOY’ | EPITAPH RECORDS
Los Angeles natives Bad Suns announce plans to release a new collection of songs called ‘Infinite Joy’, out November 17th via Epitaph Records. With Grammy award-winning producer Ben Allen (Washed Out, Walk The Moon) at the helm, the trio masterfully crafts a sublime union of alternative indie rock and synth-funk with an emphasis on glossy production and accessible pop sheen.
Alongside the announcement, the band has released the track ‘Living Or Dying’. Accompanied by shimmering hi-hats and an undeniable groove, the song explores existentialist themes in an uplifting atmosphere. Written by frontman Christo Bowman as an expression of encouragement to his fiancé as she contemplates a major life decision, he expresses,
“Living a life in a state of fear or regret is hardly living. Life is too beautiful to waste.”

LA-based singer-songwriter Roe Kapara has shared the newest iteration of his atypical romanticism before hitting the road tomorrow with Minnesotan indie rock duo DURRY. The latest infectious addition to his catalogue that has amassed over 37.7 million streams, “Fajita!” is an indie jam driven by vibrant guitar, rhythmic dynamism, and most especially Kapara’s stellar vocals. “‘Fajita!’ is for the people that feel too silly to be loved or taken seriously as a romantic partner,” he shares. “It also accepts and celebrates a lack of competence when searching for an intimate connection.”

BAR ITALIA release new album The Twits | THE LABEL
bar italia are the London based three-piece of Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton. Today they release their second full length of 2023, The Twits, via Matador / Remote Control, less than six months after their acclaimed Matador debut, Tracey Denim.
The Twits was recorded by the trio over eight weeks from February 2023 in a makeshift home studio in Mallorca, and was mixed by Marta Salogni. It finds bar italia’s economical yet evocative song craft taking raucous, mystic, unkempt, occasionally sinister, and wholly committed turns. Songs like ‘my little tony‘, with its in-the-red riff and excitable hooks, the cathartic four-on-the-floor of ‘world’s greatest emoter’ and the festival tent psychedelia of ‘Hi-fiver‘ need little in the way of exposition – these are exhilarating rock songs, if wayward and strange.

A summer that's stacked, slammed and supersized
A great (and kinda half fun/half frightening) overview of what is coming for us musically over summer by old mate Chris Schulz..... have a geez: "A summer that's stacked, slammed and supersized Nearly 70 music festivals will be held in New Zealand over the coming months. I know this because I counted them all – and it took me fucking ages."
