MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK announce new album| Listen to the lead song
Pop-punk icons Motion City Soundtrack make a triumphant return with the announcement of their new album, The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World due for release on September 19 via Epitaph Records. For their first collection of music since 2015’s ‘Panic Stations’, the band doubles down on their signature sound with renewed energy and purpose, recapturing the magic of their early days while showcasing their growth and maturity after a decade-long hiatus. Over twenty years removed from their 2003 debut, the quintet’s signature cocktail of neurotic charm and hook-laden pop-punk is still potent on lead single ‘She Is Afraid’. Conceived during the making of ‘Panic Stations’, its bendy guitar licks and quirky vocal delivery sound at once familiar and newly vital. KIM GORDON reworks 'Bye Bye' with words censored by Trump administration
Kim Gordon has released ‘BYE BYE 25!’, a remake of ‘BYE BYE’ from her critically acclaimed second solo album, The Collective. Proceeds from the sale of ‘BYE BYE 25!’, both song and t-shirt, will be donated to reproductive rights nonprofit NOISE FOR NOW. Both ‘BYE BYE’ and The Collective were nominated for GRAMMYs at the 2025 ceremony. Of the ‘BYE BYE 25!,’ Gordon says: (Producer and collaborator) Justin Raisen had this idea to redo ‘Bye Bye’ starting at the end of the song. When I was thinking of lyric ideas, it occurred to me to use words taken from a site that had all the words that Trump has essentially banned, meaning any grant or piece of a project or proposal for research that includes any of those words would be immediately disregarded or “cancelled.” I guess Trump does believe in cancel culture, because he is literally trying to cancel culture.
WEDNESDAY announces album | Listen to ‘Wound Up Here (By Holdin On)’
Wednesday announce their anticipated new album, Bleeds, due September 19th via Dead Oceans. With Bleeds Wednesday present an intoxicating collection of narrative-heavy Southern rock that—like many of the most arresting passages from the North Carolina band’s discography—thoughtfully explores the vivid link between curiosity and confession. “Bleeds is the spiritual successor to Rat Saw God, and I think the quintessential ‘Wednesday Creek Rock’ album,” Hartzman said, articulating satisfaction with the ways her band has sharpened its trademark sound, how they’ve refined the formula that makes them one of the most interesting rock bands of their generation. “This is what Wednesday songs are supposed to sound like,” she said. “We’ve devoted a lot of our lives to figuring this out—and I feel like we did.” ‘Wound Up Here (By Holdin On),’ released today alongside a video by Joriel Cura, is a perfect example of this alchemy.

BAD SUNS share dreamy new single | Listen to 'Mystery Girl'
California indie-pop band Bad Suns has unveiled their sparkling new single ‘Mystery Girl’, the latest taste of their dance-inducing new album Accelerator out on August 8th via Epitaph. In an upbeat cascade of dreamy riffs and a lively rhythm section, Christo Bowman’s wistfully reflective lyrics signify a crossroads for the lead singer and guitarist. Through a diaristic stream of consciousness, he remembers his coming-of-age years while facing the inertia of fatherhood: “There’s this beautiful new chapter in my life unfolding, and there’s mixed emotions that come with it,” he says. “'Mystery Girl' is a song about my teenage years, past relationships and experiences, and being a young person who is ultimately just looking for love.”

UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA releases Cursed EP |Get it now!
Unknown Mortal Orchestra releases their new EP, CURSE, which is out now via Jagjaguwar. The band recently announced the EP when sharing its lead single and music video ‘BOYS WITH THE CHARACTERISTICS OF WOLVES.’ CURSE reflects these cursed times we find ourselves in. Taking inspiration from Italian horror films of the 1970s and 1980s, the six songs on the release are as cathartic a listen as the band has ever recorded. Featuring both abrasive riffs reminiscent of Black Sabbath on ‘BOYS WITH THE CHARACTERISTICS OF WOLVES’ as well as the laid back, intricate guitar playing UMO is maybe most famous for on ‘DEATH COMES FROM THE SKY,’ the CURSE EP is the perfect soundtrack to your next confrontation with the void.
