RINGLETS announce new album | Check out new song 'Heavenly Wheel'
Ringlets announce details of their highly-anticipated sophomore album, The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time For Walkies). To be released on June 27th via Flying Nun Records and Leather Jacket Records, The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time For Walkies) is the band’s shimmering follow-up to their distinct eponymous debut in 2023 and a vibrant expression of their singular song craft. Lead single ‘Heavenly Wheel’ rumbles at a steady pace. World-weary sentiments freighted across vast landscapes of gnarled, crushing bass and guitar tones and the drums of Father Time’s atomic clock. Accompanying the track is a music video directed and produced by Joe Curtis; vocalist Leith Towers shares: “The song is about in-escapism—being trapped in the bed you’ve made for yourself. The video captures this concept through vignettes of endless and pointless tasks, ultimately suggesting that it’s not so bad when you’re in said bed together.”
Flowers delivery coming from DURAND JONES & THE INDICATIONS | Listen to 'Been So Long'
Durand Jones & The Indications — the trio of Durand Jones, Aaron Frazer, and Blake Rhein — return today with the announcement of their new album, Flowers (out 27th June on Dead Oceans), and the release of its lead single/video, ‘Been So Long.’ For their fourth album and first since 2021’s “disco and funk infused” (Billboard) Private Space, The Indications leaned into a particular desire to return to their roots in a Bloomington basement, a space where they first found camaraderie in gritty funk and Southern soul that would inspire their self-titled debut.Reflecting a strong sense of the band’s maturation and conviction, the 11 songs that make up Flowers are grown and sexy, fit for cruising, and delight in the softer side of soul and disco.
JENSEN MCRAE releases new single & video| Listen to 'Savannah'
Folk’s modern muse Jensen McRae has unveiled her latest single, ‘Savannah,’ from her highly anticipated sophomore album, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me!, out April 25 via Dead Oceans. The track, a hauntingly beautiful anthem of liberation and self-discovery, finds McRae reflecting on leaving a toxic relationship, only to be confronted by her past at every turn. As Jensen explains, “Savannah is the oldest song on the album and I think is the song that speaks most to the title and the cover art. It’s about leaving a bad relationship, falling into one that seems good, and running away, only to be confronted by your past on every street corner.”
CAROLINE share new single | Listen to 'Total euphoria'
Constantly evolving London-based eight-piece caroline return with their first new music in three years, ‘Total euphoria’. The group’s new output sees them evolving with the influence of new technologies & avant-garde producers. ‘Total euphoria’ features Jasper Llewellyn and Magdalena McLean singing in unison above the fray while the swirling sound beneath them builds and builds in intensity – trombone, bass clarinet and harmonium infusing themselves one at a time in layers as the sound hurtles towards escape velocity.
guccihighwaters & TOOPOOR collide on sultry new single | Listen to 'If Looks Could Kill'
Last month LA-based producer/singer-songwriter, guccihighwaters, unveiled plans for his third studio album ‘DEATH BY DESIRE’, due out May 30th via Epitaph Records. With unflinching honesty, he weaves a sonic tapestry of R&B and alt-pop with lyrics that chronicle an artist’s descent into darkness. Following the brooding lead single ‘DESIRE’, now he shares the music video to the suggestive closing track ‘IF LOOKS COULD KILL‘ featuring vocals from alternative artist/DJ TOOPOOR. Guccihighwaters’ sultry cadence and TOOPOOR‘s sweetly sinister undertones collide over a hypnotic beat and pulsing synths, delivering a tantalizing-yet-toxic tale of lust and desire.
MAMALARKY share new single ahead of album release |Listen to 'Anheddonia'
Tri-coastal indie rock quartet, Mamalarky share ‘Anhedonia,’ the latest from their recently announced new album, Hex Key, due April 11th on Epitaph Records. Hex Key is an intricate, endlessly curious album full of sonic left turns and playful genre implosions. On it Mamalarky expertly pastiche sounds, time signatures, and moods together to create delightful, singular songs bursting with feeling. Last month the band announced Hex Key with its high-octane and rambunctious lead single “#1 Best of All Time,” which received praise from The New York Times, Pitchfork, Paste, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Under The Radar and more.
LIDO PIMIENTA returns with orchestral album | Listen to ‘Quiero Que Me Beses,’
It has been five years since the GRAMMY-nominated and Polaris Prize-winning artist Lido Pimienta debuted her breakout album, Miss Colombia, and today she reemerges with La Belleza, a transcendent new album created in conversation with European classical music and her personal life. An iconoclast who creates music and fine art drawn from her experience as a Caribbean woman from Colombia, Lido Pimienta’s new offering marks a defining moment in her already remarkable career. Alongside her new album announcement she has shared the track ‘Quiero Que Me Beses,’ written during a strained time in her marriage and in which Pimienta “yearns for a love so intense” over a hearty string arrangement that perfectly mirrors the dynamic range of her voice.
BRANDON shares new song ahead of upcoming album | Check out 'September'
27-year-old Los Angeles singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brandon has shared the second single from his forthcoming debut album, Before You Go, due May 9 via Secretly Canadian. ‘September’ serves as both a plea and a farewell, reflecting on love’s fleeting nature through haunting instrumentation and Brandon’s signature warmth. The new single follows the impossibly catchy lead single ‘Right Back,’ a guitar-driven, alt-R&B track that recalls Blonde-era Frank Ocean and recent breakout stars Mk.gee and Dijon. Consequence named the song one of the week’s best, calling it “a soulful alt-pop track exploring a return to something that will inevitably end in more pain.”

JAPANESE BREAKFAST releases her new album | Get it from your favourite record store
Japanese Breakfast releases her anticipated new album, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women), today via Dead Oceans. Produced by Grammy Award winner Blake Mills — an innovator of uncommon subtlety, known for his work with everyone from Bob Dylan to Fiona Apple and quietly regarded as many a legacy artist’s favorite guitar player — and tracked at the venerable Sound City in Los Angeles — the record sees Zauner pull back from the bright extroversion that defined its predecessor Jubilee to examine the darker waves that roil within, the moody, fecund field of melancholy, long held to be the psychic state of poets on the verge of inspiration. The result is an artistic statement of purpose: a mature, intricate, contemplative work that conjures the romantic thrill of a gothic novel.
