GEORDIE GREEP (of black midi) shares new album | Check out new song 'Blues'
Geordie Greep (guitarist and vocalist in black midi) has shared a new single ‘Blues’ from his new album solo album The New Sound, listen to ‘Blues’ now. The false start of ‘Blues’ creates a slightly abstract atmosphere, where the instrumentation comes at the listener from multiple directions. This, and incredibly focused playing adds up to something that isn’t that far removed, in spirit, from Can in their pomp. Greep’s story is pretty damning throughout, a revenger’s tale full of acidic put downs: “You sit in the park and work on your sonnets / You talk about yourself in the past tense”.
THE HARD QUARTET release their eponymous debut album | Check out one of the most anticipated albums of 2024

They recorded a 15 song album in NYC and Malibu California without telling anyone except their families and friends – ideal times spent in idyllic locales. The Hard Quartet starts touring in October and will play in Australia, USA, Europe and everywhere else possible through 2025 and beyond. It’s a full-on rocking band. All four band members write, sing, play musical instruments and produce The Hard Quartet’s songs. The band is the natural result of decades of friendship and playing music in each other’s presence.”
HALF WAIF embraces ecstatic togetherness on new album |Check out this very personal album
See You At The Maypole is both a recognition of personal sadness and a call to ecstatic togetherness. It is gathering the colors of our spirit, in all its shades, and making something intricate and remarkable. The ceremonial folk dance performed around a maypole is filled with fauna and flora, with ribbons woven into complex braids incapable of unraveling; these dances are survivals of ancient ritual, honouring the living trees, and the return of Spring and fertility. “This wasn’t just my story, I wanted to say. It was every story of loss—the loss of a life, the loss of a dream, the loss of trust and hope and faith. A story of finding a way back again,” Rose explains. “My own avenue back to the land of the living was through my relationships with people and with the natural world. It only seemed right that these songs would invite those people in to build the very heart of the sound.”
