Rock's fast-rising BARTEES STRANGE releases ‘Hold The Line’
The Farm to Table track was written about George Floyd’s daughter Gianna.
“I remember watching George Floyd’s daughter talk about the death of her father and thinking, wow – what a sad introduction to Black American life for this young person. It was painful to watch her grow up in that moment like all Black kids eventually do. ‘Hold the Line’ was written over the course of three days during that first pandemic summer. Through this song, I was trying to make sense of what was happening in the US, my neighbourhood and my community at that moment. During the marches people were trying to stop the bleeding, locked arm in arm, doing everything they could to hold the line.”

Pōneke's MILES CALDER shares a delightful accoustic performance of his new single
"I love this song and recording. It was written within the rollercoaster of new love, and marks the point of accepting what you don’t control and deciding to be serenely resigned to go along for the ride… whether up or down, or both. Working on the tune with Samuel Flynn Scott (The Phoenix Foundation) as a producer was a dream. He brought fresh ears to what me and the band already had together, and some great tweaks to the arrangement. His input also gave us licence to push the sound to something a bit bolder and more punchy."
